EMERGENCY SPINAL CARE COURSE

PROVIDER OF TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 by TalkSmart Training

Course duration

Face to Face – 5 hours (minimum) – full face to face course.

Refresher training – 2 hours (minimum) – 2 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates.

Course Delivery: This course will be delivered in the workplace or at your venue.

Work Placement Arrangements: No work placement will be required as part of this course.

Course Fees and Payments: Cost: $150 per person

Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider

Assessment Requirements: Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

Entry Requirements: Prerequisite – This course has a prerequisite of HLTAID011 Provide first aid

Physical fitness – Participants must have the physical capacity to complete a practical demonstration of moving a casualty with suspected spinal injury.

What happens at the course?

Learning Activities

  • Delivery of course information and learning activities.

Assessment Activities

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:

• Performance tasks – The assessor must observe the following performance tasks:

    • Fit a conscious casualty with a soft cervical collar
    • Move a casualty with a suspected spinal injury

Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenario:

Workplace documentation – The student is to complete 3 entries in the Workplace Incident Journal.

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.

Award Issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment:  The certificate will be issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.
