VERIFYING THE CORRECT USE OF ADRENALINE AUTO-INJECTOR DEVICES

PROVIDER OF TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 by TalkSmart Training.

Course Duration (face to face)

  • Face to Face 2 hours (minimum) – full face to face course
  • Refresher training 2 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates.

This course has been designed for individuals who are required to verify that an individual who has successfully completed the online modules of the ASCIA Anaphylaxis eTraining for Victorian Schools, can use the adrenaline autoinjector devices correctly.

The role of the verifier is limited to observing others who have successfully completed the ASCIA Anaphylaxis eTraining for Victorian Schools and verifying that these graduates can correctly use all of the adrenaline autoinjector devices currently available in Australia, as identified in the ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training.

(On completion of this course, successful participants will not have the skills and knowledge to train others to be a verifier or to train others to correctly use adrenaline autoinjector devices.)

Candidates for this course will be employees of Victorian schools who have completed the ASCIA Anaphylaxis eTraining for Victorian Schools, demonstrated the correct use of adrenaline autoinjector devices and have been nominated to become verifiers of other school staff.

It is recommended that competence in this course be refreshed every 3 years.  In addition, ASCIA Anaphylaxis eTraining for Victorian Schools must be refreshed/re-trained in line with the Victorian Department of Education and Training guidelines.

Course Fees and Payments

Cost: $100 per person,

Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.

Assessment Requirements:  Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

What happens at the course?

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:

Practical scenarios: – The Student (the person undertaking assessment to become a Verifier must be observed conducting a scenario where they are assessing a First Aider in their ability to correctly administer an adrenaline autoinjector device

Documentation – The student must complete the following to the appropriate standard:

  • A Verification Checklist developed by the Victorian Department of Education for Scenario 1 and Task 1

Theory assessment – A written exam consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions. All questions must be completed.

Award issued

The following unit(s) will be awarded to successful participants in this course. The certificate will be issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.
