People ask lots of questions about first aid courses and first aid certificates.  First aiders should hold nationally recognised Statement/s of Attainment issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the nationally endorsed first aid unit of competency.  At a minimum, this should be HLTAID011 Provide First aid.  This statement of attainment for First aid is recognised throughout Australia.  The Safe Work Australia First Aid Model Code of Practice requires employers to ensure their nominated first aiders attend training on a regular basis to keep current.

An important component of completing a first aid course is being able to perform uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on an adult mannikin and a baby mannikin that is placed on the floor. You will need to be physically fit to do this and you must be able to get down on the floor.  TalkSmart Training is very pleased to be able to offer our clients access to the industry leading Training Desk system. This system gives our clients unparalleled access to all of their critical training data including reports, real time attendance information, student training records, certificates and many more features. First aid certificate renewal

First aiders should attend training regularly to refresh their skills and knowledge in first aid procedures. First aid certificate renewal is achieved by attending refresher training annually for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation- (CPR). Qualifications in first aid should really be renewed every 3 years. In some workplaces, additional training may be required for specific situations.  This may be in schools, childcare facilities and family daycare premises where children have severe allergies and are at risk of anaphylaxis.
